Position: Full-Time Membership Director (32-Hrs)
Membership Development and Retention
The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in serving the business community of the Sebastian River Area. This position will provide the opportunity to expand your professional skill set, establish relationships in the local business community and grow with the chamber! • Learn Chamber Master Software System, including reports on retention, new members, and Member participation
• Identify and recruit new Members
• Retain and assist Members in taking full advantage of their membership
• Process membership applications, renewals, and resignations
• Ensure New Member Packets are delivered within two weeks of joining
• Maintain and update membership records
• Assist with Member communications
• Manage Membership Collections through email and phone communications
• Collect data, track membership statistics, and prepare reports
• Manage, lead, and track all aspects of membership sales to make budget goals
• Attend Chamber Networking Events and Festivals to generate potential leads for memberships
• Work with Members to get them involved in Chamber activities and events
• Assist in recruitment of Chamber Ambassadors
• Plan quarterly Ambassador Meetings
• Work with Chamber Ambassadors to make renewal contacts and respond to all feedback received
• Maintain knowledge of goals, objectives, and services provided by the organization
• Coordinate and schedule Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings with Business Members
• Follow-up with nonmembers that attend our events
• Utilize the Sebastian River Area new business listings
• Visit Chamber Members regularly for friendly check-ins and taking video or photos to promote their business
• Strategize with Members or prospective Members on sponsorship opportunities available through the Chamber that may be beneficial for marketing their business

• High School Diploma or GED (Bachelors Preferred)
• Flexible schedule
• Previous chamber member management, recruitment, and retention experience preferred
• Proficient in technology and MS Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills, detail oriented
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to think creatively and take initiative
• Represent the Chamber professionally and ethically in the community
• Comfortable with working out and around the Sebastian River Area
• Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and sell memberships
• Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information

Work Schedule & Availability:
• Normal Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday: 10:00am – 5:00pm (times may vary)
• Additional Hours: It will be necessary to work outside of Normal Work Hours due to events, programs and meetings that will occur before or after those hours as assigned.

Pay & Benefits: Full Time Position - 32 hours
• Salary plus commission on new members
• Vacation/Sick Time paid after 90-day probationary period per Personnel Manual
• Paid holidays per Personnel Manual
