Sebastian Chamber Tourism/Event Coordinator Job Description:

The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Tourism and Event Coordinator to assist Chamber Operations Director with event planning, implementation, and the promotion of tourism-related activities. This successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for new projects, marketing, and advertising related to tourism working closely with VISIT FLORIDA. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing the tourism budget and working within its margins, presenting budget requests and tourism plans to the Tourist Development Council (TDC), and planning chamber events. The Tourism and Event Coordinator will attend monthly/quarterly TDC meetings. Qualifications: Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with knowledge of Publisher or Canva helpful. Also, one must have experience with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Primarily working at the Sebastian River Area Chamber of office and at home, with some local travel. Pay commensurate with experience. Job Detail: • Part-time position (20 hours per week) • Drafts and distributes the monthly tourism newsletter. • Assist in Welcome Center Operations/Membership Operations when needed. • Hosts quarterly Tourism Committee meetings for Chamber tourism partners. • Collaborate with IRC Chamber throughout the year on various projects. • Prepares the budget request and the annual Indian River County Tourist Development Council (TDC) funding annually. • Presents to the TDC twice annually. • Attends quarterly TDC meetings. • Promotes community events through editorial leads. • Attend Indian River County Chamber Tourism Committee meetings. • Maintain accurate records, files and respond to industry-related inquiries. • Respond to Free Editorial Leads from VISIT FLORIDA. • Distribute Visitor’s Guides to various hotels, attractions, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses throughout the Sebastian River area. • Apply for grants through VISIT FLORIDA for advertising and other activities. • Coordinate internet and print advertising. • Provide content and direction for online and print advertising. • Plan itineraries and coordinate tours for travel writers who are visiting our area. • Host familiarization tours (“fam tours”) for tourism partners. • Manage tourism portion of Sebastian River Area Chamber website. • Coordinate and execute special projects. • Participate in webinars and attend tourism conferences (i.e., Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Certified Visitors Information Center Summit). • Maintain social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. • Learn Chamber Master software and utilize it to assist with job duties.







Senior Resource Association (SRA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides services to support and advocate for the independence and dignity of older adults throughout Indian River County. Our organization was established in 1974 to provide services and programs that promote an active, healthy, and independent lifestyle for older adults. We provide and manage the Meals on Wheels of Indian River County programs, Adult Enrichment & Respite programs, In-Home Services, and Transportation for seniors and their families. With two locations in Vero Beach and Sebastian, SRA operates the only state-licensed Adult Enrichment & Respite programs in the County. Our goal is to keep seniors healthy and in their own homes for as long as safely possible. Due to memory loss, brain injury, food-insecurity, and/or lack of socialization, all families have a special need for their loved one that leads them to Senior Resource Association. SRA is recognized as the lead agency in Indian River County for homebound and community-based services for seniors and adults aged 18 and older. We represent over 450 businesses and serve various communities such as Wabasso, Fellsmere, Grant, Micco, Little Hollywood, Sebastian and surrounding areas such as Vero Beach and Melbourne, Florida.
