Be sure to plan your next destination around our well-known annual events! With the help of volunteers, area leaders and chamber members, the communities of the Sebastian River Area host a variety of exciting annual events. Art Festivals, Clam Bakes, Fishing and Golf Tournaments -- there is something for everyone to enjoy. Dates and times vary each year. View our monthly calendar often to confirm dates. Fine Arts Festival: Held in January is a juried art and fine craft festival coupled with a music venue that runs alongside the Indian River Lagoon at Riverview Park. This show is in partnership with the City of Sebastian and the Chamber and is designed to present an event that will provide cultural enhancements for the citizens in the Sebastian area. Last year, the Committee added a preview party held on Friday evening, which is an opportunity for attendees to meet the artists and have a sneak peak at the work, which is offered at the show. Frog Leg Festival: Every January the annual Frog Leg Festival is held in Fellsmere. Thousands attend this festive occasion which boasts two Guinness Book of World Records for the most frog legs consumed at a festival and includes specialty events such as Frog Jumping Contests, the Red Neck Olympics. Seafood Festival: Founded in 1875 the neighboring community of Grant hosts the Annual Seafood Festival. Thousands visit for a sampling of the delicious steamed clams, shrimps, and oysters with all the "fixin's". With continuous entertainment, and craft shows there's something for everyone at this annual event held in February.
Pelican Island Wildlife Festival:
In March every year the Pelican Island Preservation Society hosts a wildlife festival in conjunction with the City of
Sebastian and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Riverview Park, featuring displays of wild life in Florida like the bald
eagle and of course pelicans!
Fellsmere Days Celebration:
In April the city holds the annual Fellsmere Days Celebration, which includes an old fashion small town parade down
Broadway Street.
Chamber Golf Scramble: The Annual Chamber Golf Tournament is traditionally held in late spring at the Sebastian Municipal Golf Course, attracting up to 144 players. This is an opportunity to have an awesome day at the golf course as well as mingle with many of Sebastian's business members. Sebastian Clam Bake: Sebastian's very own Festival, the Clambake is a three-day event. The Clambake highlights the Riverfront of Sebastian, and forges a common bond between the old Sebastian clamming families and new residents, while showcasing the commercial fishery and history of the area. Entertainment all weekend, and clams, just about any way they can be served, fried, raw, steamed, over linguini, and chowder, all served up by a group composed of area public service organizations and supported by the business community.
